Eastern Cape has defer the arrival of Grades R, 6 and 11 because of a high number of Covid-19 cases at schools.
On Monday, July 6, the division affirmed that students in Grades R, 6 and 11, who were intended to profit to class for Monday, would keep down till 20 July 2020.
In a round, which was dated 5 July and routed to all administrators, Education Superintendent-general Themba Kojana stated, the expansion in the quantity of diseases has again required the instruction part to audit its arrangements for the staging in of evaluations.
It was accounted for that 200 schools in the area were shut due to Covid-19 cases since reviving on 8 June. He said these were a piece of an aggregate of 291 influenced by the infection.
557 students, instructors and care staff were contaminated with Covid-19 at schools in 10 locale in the region.
