Taxi supervisor Vusi “Khekhe” Mathibela has won a court fight against the branch of equity and restorative administrations to move him to the remand prisoners area of Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Center.

The high court in Pretoria on Monday requested priest Ronald Lamola, and the national magistrate of restorative administrations, Arthur Fraser, to move Mathibela back to the remand segment of the remedial office in Pretoria.

In her draft request, Judge Selemang Mokose put aside the choice taken by Lamola and Fraser dated October 19 2019 to modify Mathibela’s confinement.

Mokose stated: “The second, third and fourth respondents… [must] promptly move the candidate from C-Max confinement cells to the nearby remand community at the Kgosi Mampuru II Correctional Center forthwith and that each gathering pay its expenses for both this application and the earnest application welcomed on 26 May 2020.”

The decision came after the Mamelodi taxi administrator contended that his human rights were damaged as he was kept in guardianship alongside convicts while he anticipates preliminary.

Singabakho Nxumalo, the branch of restorative administrations representative, said the choice to house Mathibela in the C-Max area of the office depended on his profile.

Mathibela was captured a year ago on charges of coercion, ambush and terrorizing after he was blamed for blackmailing cash from Mamelodi’s business network.
