The National leader of the Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation (DPCI) says eight men have been captured regarding charges of plundering at VBS Mutual Bank.
Lieutenant General Godfrey Lebeya, the leader of the DPCI, made this disclosure during a media preparation on Wednesday.
He said warrants of capture had been made for all suspects.
The eighth suspect, he stated, had contracted Covid-19 and was in disengagement.
“The speculates will show up in court at the Palm Ridge justice’s court on Thursday,” said Lebeya.
“The trick was brought forth in July 2017 when the directorate affirmed budget reports, making VBS look more extravagant while it was wiped out.”
The DPCI got the examination in 2018. It set up a group of 15 agents.
National Director of Prosecutions head Shamila Batohi praised the group on the examination.
“We are satisfied and praise the advances made by the group. We as a whole know a ton of work lies ahead.
“The group must be careful. We need to do this to guarantee equity does win and the standard of law wins also.
“We owe it to the individuals of Limpopo who lost their well deserved investment funds. It is our obligation to the immediate survivors of defilement in the issue. We can possibly reverse the situation against debasement if those embroiled are captured.”
She asked general society to be tolerant as examinations required some investment.
“Examinations need time and persistence. I feel and offer the restlessness of general society. The wheels of equity are turning and equity will win.”
